PlayUp Review: Play Free Fantasy Sports. Win Chips. Redeem Vouchers.

PlayUp is a Fantasy sports platform which is a little different than the ones I’ve reviewed earlier. And, as you read this PlayUp review you will know those differences too..

On PlayUp you can play sports like Cricket, football, NBA, NHL, NRL, AFL and PKLand earn Play Chips which can be used to redeem gift cards or join more contests.

Playup also has an app & is one of the few fantasy sports apps that you will find on the Play store/iTunes. And the reason is, it’s free. PlayUp will never ask you to deposit any money. You just need to play free fantasy sports, collect Play chips and redeem them for gift cards.

How to Play Fantasy Cricket on PlayUp:

Select Sport & Match:

Go to the Lobby” and select a sport.

Select the “Free” tab button to only view the Free Challenges/leagues. These leagues have Free written below entry cost. These are free to join and you can win chips.

I As you can see in the screenshot above, the match is between Hyderabad and Chennai, the challenge is free to join and the prize pool is 100,000.

You can also join paid leagues if you have enough PlayChips.

Now select a match.

Create a Team & Confirm Joining:

Now select 11 players within the Salary cap. 

Unlike most of the fantasy sports platforms, in cricket, there is no category for All Rounders. There are only 3 categories- Wicket-Keeper, Bowlers, and Batsmen.

You can select 4-6 Batsmen, 4-6 bowlers, and 1 wicketkeeper.

Yoo can filter players according to their form, average points and percentage of selection. You can view the performance of the players in the past matches by tapping on their names.

Once you have selected your 11 players tap the “Review Team” button.

On the next screen hit the “Update Lineup” button and confirm to join the league.

In case you are thinking I forgot to choose Captain and Vice Captain: I didn’t.

There is no such thing as Captain or Vice Captain on PlayUp.

Good thing is, like StarPick you can edit your team even after toss. So you can select the players that are part of the playing 11.

The players that are playing have a green symbol and others are marked with red see the picture below:

Wait For Result:

Once the results are announced PlayChips will be added to your account(if you win).

Run Scored = 1
Six Hit = 2
Duck = -20
50 Run Bonus = 10
100 Run Bonus = 30
Strike Rate Bonus >=130% to <=160% = 0.25 per run scored
Strike Rate Bonus >160% = 0.50 per run scored

BOWLING
Wicket = 20
Maiden Over = 10
Wide / No Ball = -1
3 Wicket Bonus = 10
5 Wicket Bonus = 30
Economy Rate Bonus <=5.5 = 2 per ball bowled
Economy Rate Bonus >5.5 to <=7.0 = 1 per ball bowled

FIELDING
Catch = 10
Runout = 10
Stumped by Keeper = 10
